The black square has never been flat. It was always a solid object, an entity. This black quadrangle is a controller-Death, used by the visitor to travel through the slots of the virtual space. However, it does not serve to maintain fiction within the world represented. It actually becomes a factor that creates Something rather than not creating anything.
