Zygmunt Konieczny
I prefer music that is full of contrasts, it gives broader meanings to a performance.
Zygmunt Konieczny has been called “the jovial composer of sad songs.” His career began at Cracow’s iconic Piwnica pod Baranami literary cabaret. He has composed music for numerous plays at the Stary Theatre, including Konrad Swinarski’s stagings of Forefather’s Eve and Liberation and Andrzej Wajda’s Demons and November Night. His music usually plays an integral role in the performances, sometimes even dominating certain stagings (for example: Wajda’s November Night).
